Vista computer backup

Hello,
I read the tutorial about vista computer backup.
I made such a backup but im wondering:
If you use it, will it also make changes to the partitions?

From what I've seen in the tutorial, it will back up an entire hard disk.
If that's the case, it will most likely restore the partitions to the state that they were in when you made the image.

The solution to this is...if you change the partitions, make a new image.
