Hello my friend and I just got my computer together and tried installing vista home premium 64

Whenever we tried to install vista it would just BSoD and the error message either said:

Bad_Pool_Header or IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal

System:
XFX nForce 680i LT SLI Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad
4 GB of OCZ ddr2 800 RAM (timing and voltage is proper)
300 GB WD Velociraptor
Nvidia GTX 280

After trying and trying we tried disabling 3 of the cores making the cpu use single core, then we tried installing vista and it worked. After getting vista installed we then tried to enable all 4 cores, restarted and we got the BsoD again.

We did a memtest and everything was good

If someone has had this problem or knows what the problem could be I would really appreciate it if you could tell me what to do. Im going nuts!

Try running with only 2 gB of RAM. I understand that there's issues with the 680i chipset and full RAM slots.
Also, check for BIOS updates that pertain to this problem. Be very, very careful if you do decide to update your BIOS - one wrong move and you'll have a very expensive computer shaped paperweight.
