Help
I recently tried to upgrade my fire wall... McAfee firewall express to McAfee firewall plus and got an error message saying that windows cannot locate regedit.exe.... i figured it was the registry editor... obviously... so i went to start>run> and typed in regedit.exe to find the location... however i couldnt find it there either... does anyone have any ideas or suggestions... is it possible that it was uninstalled... and can i somehow download it or something??? please help... or perhaps it could be that i disabled windows restore or something but that was a long time ago... and i forgot y it was i did that.... anyways im getting off point... im taking any and all suggestions...

Hi, Compmom, and welcome to Bleeping Computer.
It sounds as though you might have some other infections. I think that the first thing to do is to submit a HijackThis! log in the Hijack forums of Bleeping Computer. First read the pinned post about "How to Submit a Hijack Log" here and then submit a log. It's always possible that the regedit file just became corrupted, but it's a good idea to see if the problem is malware related before trying to fix it some other way. Good luck!

Let OldTimer finish with your HJT log, before you try to fix anything else.
This way, we can eliminate the possibility of spyware/malware, being the cause of your
problem.
If this doesn't help with your problem, then post back here.
