I uninstalled Norton Internet Security and ran the removal tool. Even so I get entries in the boot log that NIS drivers were not loaded. The boot is bogging down while the system searches for drivers that aren't there. Can anyone tell me where the driver load list is controlled? It's got to read a list of files from someplace. Some Registry entry?

I can't find anything specific on the web.

Try the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Look for any entries that refer to Norton and remove them
you can also try Autoruns
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb963902.aspx
To check to see if any orphaned Norton entries are trying to open at Startup and disable them

Thanks for the reply. I got it fixed. I ran the Norton removal tool again. Also deleted the boot cache. Now the Norton drivers don't try to load. Reboot time seems to be a fairly reasonable 76 seconds(and that's with having all my task tray floatsam loading) so I'll stay with that. :huh:
