ok so my computer specs at this moment are

Now the thing is i just bought a PNY Verto GeForce 9600 GSO 768MB Overclocked Video Card my motherboard does not support pcie 16 bit so im looking for a motherboard that can handle this graphics card with ease and if possible cheap. i found this

Well, I'm not sure if you're able to replace a motherboard in a Compaq PC. Some of their computers have proprietary connectors that limit which motherboards can be connected to the power supply. What you selected is a CPU not a motherboard. The CPU goes on the motherboard and the one you chose will not work with your current motherboard. Your computer is very old, it will not be able to feed the video card information fast enough, bottlenecking it. Also, the GeForce 9600 GSO requires your power supply to be at least 400 watts. In order to use a new motherboard you will need to replace three major components, the motherboard, the CPU, and the memory. This will cost well over $100. You may also need to upgrade your power supply to 400 watts or higher. If you're going to go through that much hassle, you might as well just buy or build a new PC.

How long are you planning on keeping this PC? What is your budget? If you want to seriously futureproof yourself, go for a Phenom or Phenom II series of processors.

No, I would go with a dual or quad core system with at least 2.5GHz. The 4050e is 1.9GHz. Note that the eMachines model that has that processor does not have a powerful enough power supply for your video card nor do they have models that go above 2.4GHz. What is your budget for a PC? Most PC's below $400 do not have processors that are very fast.

Id seriously find someone to custom build for you, or try and build yourself. you can get more bang for the buck that way.
