When i try to type in the console it closes automatically. When i open it back up there is an error message saying " couldn't exec userconfig.cfg" And something about "Host Configuration" . Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Would be better if there was more explanation. But I'm guessing from seeing "Cannot exec userconfig.cfg" means thats your missing the file, which is normally located in your steam folder. First thing i'd do would be go to your Steam folder, and try to see if you can find a userconfig.cfg for CSS. If not, uninstalled CSS and reinstall, this should create a whole new userconfig.cfg.

You could always try reinstalling if you have the time. (assuming you have the disks still.)

You don't even need a disc to reinstall a game for Steam.
