Have you been able to burn CD's in the past, or is this a new burner?

From the sound of it, you probably have to limit your burning speed. Depending on your processor, you might have to go as low as 4x. Most of these errors are caused by buffer overruns. In other words, your computer can't keep up with the speed of the burner.

Other things that can cause problems are cheap disks, dirty lasers, or heat or memory problems.
