Memory Upgrade and Crashing

About a day or two ago I upgraded my ram from 512mb to one gig. I made sure I bought DDR SDRAM, which is the ram my computer handles. Now I'm getting constant crashes from apps as well as Windows. Before the upgrade I never had crashes. I'm running Windows XP SP2. Can anyone help?

Test it to give a better understanding of your hardware issue.

It seems like the memory might be defective

Could be the wrong speed memory. What kind of computer are you using?

Ran the test and it came up with numerous errors. Computer ended up crashing before I could even finish the test. Looks like I'm going to have to return it. Thanks for the help!

Yeah Sometimes the workmanship of the memory maker could have slipped up and had failed the testing phase of the memory.. Hope you get new memory that will work for you.
