Hi,

I can obviously tell better Hard-Disks and RAM as the bigger the number the better..

However I cannot tell one processor from another, can somebody please advise me on the best processors out there, or how to measure how good a processor is!

I think benchmarks are the best way to go. These charts http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/desktop...chmarks,31.html have many different benchmarks comparing most of the newest processors. The only new processors missing are the new AMD Phenom II's, but if you were looking at Intel, they are all there.
