BleepingComputer.com: Dead Mobo?

So, what I've got is an HP Pavilion media center TV m7580n desktop. It was working just a few days ago, until today, it just completely stopped. The motherboard is an Asus A8M2N-LA micro ATX, with an AMD Athlon Turion 62 x2 processor. When you start the computer up, it seems to be normal, the fan's all kick on (power supply, video card, processor, cpu), but the monitor remains "No signal", just a blank black screen, and nothing happens past that point. This is a relatively new computer, only had it for about 2 years, bought brand new for $900 and I'd just like to believe it could be something other than a dead mobo. Any advice, help, or troubleshooting is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Do you have another monitor you can try?

Check for hard drive light activity. If there is activity (not just a stuck on or off light) then there is a chance that the onboard graphics processor went bad--of course, that assumes that you are connecting your monitor directly to your motherboard, rather than a separate graphics card. Try another video card in the machine and see what happens.

If you have a separate video card in it, try removing it and connecting directly to the motherboard--this will of course depend on you having an IGP (Integrated Graphics Processor).

If you have no hard drive activity lights, try removing every expansion card inserted, unplug your hard drive, cd rom drive, disk drive, and remove all but one stick of memory. If nothing comes up, try the other stick(s) of memory individually.
