I am running a 2004 Dell PC (not sure of the model) with Windows XP Home Edition, and I have ran diagnostic software to determine that the default sound card is an Intel 82801EB ICH5. I found the driver on this site:
http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/rc/rc_drive.htm
When I install the driver and restart the PC, windows still claims that there is new hardware ("Multimedia Audio Controller") and won't recognize it under Sounds and Audio Devices in the control panel. The windows new hardware wizard doesn't seem to recognize the driver, either.
Any suggestions?
