Staying Updated Calendar of Updates.
For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....

From the FAQ's here: http://www.girlscouts.org/program/gs_cooki...p#peanut_butter
Q: Are Girl Scout Cookies affected by the current peanut butter warning?
A: Neither licensed baker affiliated with Girl Scout® Cookies—ABC Interbake and Little Brownie Bakers source their peanut butter from the supplier involved in the current peanut butter warning.
FDA and other regulatory agencies have indicated that Peanut Corporation of America (PCA) is the focus of their investigation concerning a recent Salmonella outbreak thought to be caused by tainted peanut butter. PCA does not supply peanut butter used in any variety of Girl Scout® cookies. See our See our statement.
This makes my husband a happy camper-his favorite Girl Scout cookie is Peanut Butter Sandwich.

It figures. My daughter says the same thing about cereal she buys for her kids. Lighter box, same price.

I love the stuff. Great survival food. High in protein, won't spoil in the heat of a backpack, no cooking.

There have been a few criminal prosecutions for homicide by a corporation over the years. I think this may qualify. It wasn't just criminal negligence; the tainted food was sent out intentionally, with no care for the potential victims.

Over 1550 products on the recall list and counting. The responsible stores cannot keep up, and some of the small convenience stores seem to be totally unaware of the recalls. I had chinese food today, had to ask whether any of the food items contained any peanut products.
Mr. Parnell was appointed to a committee within the FDA that set safety regulations for, among other products, peanuts and peanut derivatives. He was reappointed twice.
He had a plant that was opened in Texas two years ago and never registered with that state. Most FDA inspections nowadays, apparently, are done by state and county inspectors, not actually by the FDA. He also was late in registering with the FDA.
No citations or links: there have been at least 5 or 6 articles in AP and Reuters about this snowballing mess. This is getting to be more complicated than a southern gothic novel; I am thinking of Stephen Wingrove, who wrote the 7 mega novel series about a future world controlled by a revived imperial china.
