What are the risks when you post your birthday on the Internet?

Other than it's one piece to the puzzle of your identity, which can be stolen. There isn't much risk in and of itself posting your birthdate. It just gives information away for free however. Why make it easier for 'bad guys' to collect information?
The Internet is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life.

What happens if one did post their bday on their profile:
1. Age will be on public display for everyone to know and see
2. Additional information for anyone interested~
As for the risks, I agree with Animal. For security purposes, in my opinion, revealing the real age of a user has little or no relevance to people intent to do scams other than giving away information for free.
Besides, there is no certainty that age is factual anyway~ unless they're willing to stick to protocol and tell the truth. That's entirely up to the user.
Here in BC to display one's age will mean their birthday will be posted and announced, which somewhat makes it special (IMO).
