So do you use up to date anti-virus software? and a reasonably secure internet browser
if yes, which one?
if no, why not?
i use AVG-free, Spybot once in a while, and Firefox 3
next?

i was hoping some of the 1400+ guests here might get the names of some programs that keep machines from stumbling around the internet running someone else' s software and doing god knows what.

I also go to Windows Live One Care and run it every month or so, since they built the program I'm hoping they will find anything my stuff doesn't..

Having an resident, and updated, Anti-virus, your computer behind a firewall, using a safer browser, and having several anti-spyware applications is just common sense. Moreover, and perhaps just as important, is being an informed and cautious internet user, avoiding problematic sites and thoughtless downloading.
