I can't understand why it'd be strict if other sites such as 4chan, animenewsnetwork.com, and other sites could get onto Wikipedia and this couldn't.....but then again, I don't know the restrictions and such and whatnot.

Not sure what the above would stop from having a wikipedia article.

If you want to add it to wikipedia, that is fine, but I would rather not have it on wikia as part of another person's site. It makes the entry not neutral.

Copied to Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bleeping_Computer

Do you want me to remove the article from Wikia?

It should be removed by the time you read this.

However, the Bleeping Computer article in Wikipedia has been placed as a candidate for speedy deletion just after a few minutes. That's how strict they are.

So be it then. I really didnt want to be involved in this process as it looks strange in my eyes. If there is a reason you think BC belongs there, compared to other forums, then use the {hangon} feature they state should be use.

I don't quite understand--Wikipedia is removing the BC article because they consider it self-promotion? That means folks will have to track down articles to cite, a lot more work involved in that.

They wouldn't consider it promotion if the references are from third-party sources. Or we can move it to a less-stricter wiki.

Brian Krebs, in his last live chat at Security Fix on washingtonpost.com, gave a small nod to BC. We were his second choice for a computer help forum. But Brian Krebs! The Wiki folk should like that.

I am a super user of Wikipedia and have put in a request. I am remaining anonymous in this process, but the link is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Lankiveil because this editor was responsible for the error message and deletion!

I just went to provide a link, having done it before, but it looks like the reference to BC was deleted completely, and there is a direct link to the first site, without it being named.

Sorry, but there must be other references praising BC elsewhere.

This is a direct link to his preferred site: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/cleanup

This link is anchored in to the talk page of the editor which deleted it. I have updated my post and signed it!

The error message is originally:
