After running Malware everything on my PC is fine except I can not get IE to start. I get Windows "file not found" message. This happens regardless of trying to start it by using a desktop shortcut or trying to open the .exe directly from the Program Files\Internet Explorer folder, nor selecting the file and right-click to Open.
I tried downloading IE7 from the MS site and reinstalling. that went fine but with the same result. I also tried IE8 but had the same result.
Firefox and Safari work fine.
So now I think I'd like to try uninstalling IE completely then reinstalling a fresh copy.
Is there any danger in that and does someone know how to safely do it (I could not find an Uninstall program).

A bit more info...
It appears that for whatever reason the OS can not "see" the Internet Explorer folder nor does it think IE is installed. I say this because every help site I go to that has me run exe's from that folder come back with the not found error. And IE is not listed in the Add/Remove software from Control Panel
Yet it is there and exists "enough" for the download and install to not have errors.
