I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop. When I am using Internet Explorer (and possibly other applications), I am unable to select/copy/paste a small amount of text. I can do it using Ctl C only if I select the "Select All" option, but cannot if just trying to highlight a line or 2. This is what happens: when I try to select a line, a plus sign with a dotted-line box highlights the area (similar to creating a text box), then, a window comes up that says "Clip, Print, or Use Standard Selection". Doing the clip puts it in a clip book, but when I try to retreive it, it will not work. Doing Ctl C will not copy it. Do I have an option set incorrectly on my computer? Or, am I just being clueless since I'm used to a Mac. Please help if you can.

Thanks!

Looks like you may have HP Smart Web Printing enabled.

Take a look here and see if you can solve your problem:
http://smartwebprinting.com/support.php

You can always just uninstall the program by using the Add/Remove programs feature
