I am trying to recover a hard drive. So I downloaded several free recovery programs and managed to make this file called "drive E.img" I can't figure out what to do with this file. Drive E had mostly images on it, and this is what I want to recover. I want to open this file and get my images. How can I do that?
I have "majicIso" and "majicDisk". Neither one of them is majical!!

It looks like the programs did not recover it fully so it made the file un-open-able.

Solution: use a better file recovery program. Pandora recovery has worked good for me. What programs were you using?

Pandora says my drive "is not ready"

To give you a better idea what is going on:

In Disk managment:

Layout: Partition
Type: Basic
File System: Blank
Status: Healthy(active)

In explorer if I try to open the drive it says

"The disk is not formatted. Would you like to format it now?"

In Properties-for drive D

Type: Local Disk
File System; RAW

Used space: 0 bytes
Free space: 0 bytes

Capacity shows the whole drive as used-(the picture)

Thanks for any help you can give.
 :flowers: Lou

Do you know what your file system is? In Windows XP or lower, to find out what your file system is, click Start and go to all programs>accessories>system tools>disk defragmenter. You will see the file system. It will say either FAT32 or NTFS.

Pandora recovery only supports NTFS.

You can get a better view of what you have in Disk Management, Start> right click on My Computer> Manage> Disk Management.

Is this a SATA or a ATA/PATA hdd?

How is it connected?
