Continues beep when boot. GFX Card? Continues beep when I boot, but ok when i take gfx card out

G'day guys
A year ago i removed my GFX card becuase one day i booted my comp and all of a sudden got a black screen with a continues beep, so i took my GFX card out and all was ok. I tried another old card today and same thing happend! So not sure if its the card or my comp. I am wanting to buy a new gfx card and don't want the same thing to happen. I'm sure this has been posted before can any one explain the problem?
