 ....Comp is an Acer L100, X2 3600, 2 gigs. This little unit has worked awesome for the last 2 years without a single prob. I used it 2 days ago and shut down normally, but now it will not start up. The fans turn on but nothing else. I went as far as removing the drive and hooking it up to a AMD dell system and the drive ( after installing drivers) works fine, heck I even played WOW, without changing any settings......So what do you guys think ?? Board is toast ??

I,m no expert in this field but I'll try to help.

Does the HDD indicator flash when turning on the computer, do you get a post beep, does the keyboard light up, does the power supply fan spin? If I were you the first thing I'd try would be to strip the system to only essential parts, the ram, video card, keyboard. Then test the memory i.e.- if you have two sticks pull out one at a time and see if it boots ,or get one you know works. Do you have a video card or on-board graphics? If it's a video card try another card, or if it's on-board do the same. Have you tried these steps before thinking the board is bad?

Thanks for letting us know what the fix was, much appreciated.
I am a retired Ford tech. Next to Fords, any computer is a piece of cake. (The cake, its not a lie)
