Connect to TV Tuner on PC with a laptop Trying to watch tv on laptop over network :)

hi, im new to the forum

not much of the hardware type, do a lot of html/css website design and flash animation but i got an idea, it might be dumb, im not sure

what id like to do is set up my dell laptop so that i can watch tv over my wifi network. My deskptop has a built in tv tuner and is hooked into my cable box (so i can watch tv on my desktop). Is there someway i could send that picture to my laptop and watch my tv over my laptop?

If you wish to send recorded TV shows to your laptop, you can configure Media Center to do this. Or, you can use a program like TVersity. Sending live TV would be more difficult. For the best results and smoother playback, you should not be utilizing your WiFi network while watching the shows.

I would suspect that you could use a remote control program (such as pcAnywhere, LogMeIn.com, or maybe even VNC) to view and manipulate the desktop remotely (and view it).

As DJBPace07 has stated, the lag may make this a real pain.

As I recall, I've seen USB TV Tuners available at the larger electronic retailers - but they'll require that you plug the cable into the TV Tuner (so it won't be wireless).
