Dear all,
My PC is connected to the power source via a UPS. For the last one month I am finding that it is taking a long time (more than 15 minutes) between the UPS switch on and the CPU switch on. I have tried to eliminate the UPS and make the power supply directly from the power socket in the wall. Even then I have to wait for a minimum 15 minutes before I can switch on the CPU.
If I try to switch the CPU before that time then the 'green power-on light' on the CPU keeps flickering and nothing else happens.
Can someone please guide me as to how to resolve this issue?
Regards.

Hi
.
I think I would have bought a new PSU when this first happened, particularly so if it occurred without the intermediary UPS.
At the very least, I suggest taking the PSU out of that system and momentarily (all you need is a minute or two) switch it to another system. The alternate method (switching a PSU in to your system) would also be good as a way of confirming/refuting any doubts you might have re the rest of the system.
Testing a PSU by switching is normally quick and easy, which is the way I like diagnosing
.
Some of the other members/visitors can tell you alternative ways of checking your PSU.
