I'm trying to system restore before i installed a program. my problem shall be explained in pictures.
1st i try to system restore

2nd is the error message so i click "check the disk for errors"

3rd i click start with the box "automatically fix file system errors" checked

4th i get another error message so i click "schedule disk check" button

5th upon restarting my computer there is no disk check so i go through steps one and two but this time i check the box that says "scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" unfortunately the progress bar doesn't get far before the "checking disk local disk (c:)" window disappears before it finishes scanning.

how do i restore to a previous state to get rid of errors when i have an error restoring?
i am aware of a folder on my computer that contains corrupt files

some time ago i installed a windows update and every time i opened any program i got this error message.
i stopped getting the error message and when i check for that location on my computer its not there anymore.
possibly this was a microsoft error which they knew about and fixed with a later update?
my thoughts are that these could be the corrupt files on my C disk but i can't find them anymore so maybe not.
any suggestions as to how i can check my C disk and clean up the errors so i can complete my system restore successfully?
