Whenever I update my computer, I restart (required) and it gets to the part configuring update.

It gets to 3/3 and then it hangs and restarts.

Im trying to download MySQL but it installs windows updates after installation and I cant get it to install due to it hanging and restarting.

So, when installing an update, it restarts, configures, 3/3, hangs, restarts. Cycle restarts starting from configuring...

Help please?

I system restored back before the update, but how do i go about installing MySQL without it updating the system?

What error messages do you receive when this happens?
This happened earlier in Vista's history, and I suspect that updating your drivers may help to work around this.
