Have a friend with Vista Home Premium. Has lost her desktop and taskbar - has to use Task Manager to load programs and access Internet. Suspect something simple has occurred. Any thoughts?

What happens when they type in "explorer.exe" (without the quotes) in the New Task area of Task Manager?
Does the Desktop and Task Bar come back?

Desktop and taskbar do not return. Says 'explorer.exe' not there (or words to that effect!). Thanks for advice.
