How do I know if the update engine is damaged?

Hi Lloyd,

The update wouldn't run at all. You should be able to see Avira updating. It shows the updates being downloaded when the updater runs.

Well, I started update and the update window showed up. It said connecting then "your program is up to date".

That is the program update, it is the virus definitions that had the problem and these update every day I think.

The very first beta of Comodo Internet Security, which includes the current Antivirus, was only released to testers on 11th September, 2008. The public release was on 23rd October.

I wonder if you have the old CAVS2 still which is no longer supported, as development stopped a while ago when they started work on the new one?

That one never made it out of beta and performed poorly.

The latest firewall 3.5 was also introduced at the same time.

I installed the old Comodo anti-virus in about August 2007 (I had been using the firewall for quite some time before that) and upgraded to CIS when it was released. Although it never got great reviews it did the job for me.

Just wanted to say, I use Comodo firewall (only firewall, not the AV) and Avira Antivir with Guard active. I just got comodo after removing a long outdated (from 2005) Norton. I'm very happy with it so far :flowers:

 <----- AHAHAHAAHA =P sorry I'm bored.
