Help with Kaspersky not sure if its scanning

Tryng to do a scan with Kaspersky and want to make sure Im doin it right...

1st..do I need to disable my McAfee for it to work.. Can I use FireFox or do I have to use IE

I clicked on the SCAN NOW under the magnifying glass which gave me a pop up . On the left it says...Please wait while Kaspersky checks your computer configuration...so Im waiting, but nothing is happening. I dont see any scanning, There is a blue down arrow on the left in the Update box. But I dont see anything happening.

In the middle where it tells you the requirements and at the bottom you click Accept or Exit, I am not able to click Accept only the Exit.

Did you purchase this, free trial, or are you just doing an online scan?

Try downloading it again. If it doesnt work you can skip that step. Just tell the HJT team member

To answer the Firefox question about the Kasperski online scan, you can run it from within Firefox but you do need to use a Firefox extension called IETab to be able to do so.

That was true for the earlier versions of the Kaspersky online scan. The new version uses Java instead of ActiveX and so can be run from Firefox without the IE tab.

Thanks Orange Blossom, I should have checked it out, I guess it still runs in IETab for me having set it up before. I will remove it from my list of IETab sites.

I just loaded kaspersky internet security 2009 and had zero problems updating using Firefox.

Hello Layback Bear,

Glad everything worked for you. ddc0406's problem was with the Kaspersky online scanner which is a very different issue than updating a security program installed on the computer. It seems as though everyone's computer almost has problems with at least one online scanner.
