Everytime I boot up my machine my Local Area Connection is "limited or not connected". It's an easy fix. I just turn off the cable modem wait about a minute and turn it on again and it works. But is there something I can change or do so I don't have to do that constantly?

Are you plugged in directly to your modem? Or is this going through a router?

I used to be connected to a router but I recently changed it to just plugging it in to the modem. And since then it's been acting this way. I know it has to be a setting somewhere but I don't know where to look.

Your right it should be an easy fix.

Have you tried a different network cable?

Do you have another computer you can plug in to ensure there may not be a problem with the NIC?

If you have done the first two, I would have to suspect it is the ISP's modem and I would contact them.
