BleepingComputer.com: Microsoft Word 2007 - broken spellchecker

Every so often, I have a recurring problem with Word 2007 - the spellchecker will randomly stop working. No red squiggles under any misspelled words, though the grammar check continues to work just fine. Restarting sometimes fixes the problem and sometimes it doesn't. It seems entirely random as to when it happens and I can't figure out the source of the problem at all. Any help or suggestions? I've tried making sure the dictionary is not corrupted and spellchecking is enabled in the options - both of those are always fine.
