BleepingComputer.com: Alarm Noise from the base unit

For some time now, I have occasionally got an alarm (or siren) type of noise coming from my base unit. It only seemed to be when playing one particular game (Command & Conquer 3).

Recently however, the noise has become sporadically more frequent and lasts for longer periods of time sometimes.

From my own research, two suggestions I have come across is that it's either 1) a conflict between hardware or 2) the PC overheating when running bigger/lots of applications.

Does anybody know for certain what it is and how it can be fixed?
