With a Q6600 CPU is it better to get DDR 800 or DDR 1066 memory? Why or why not, will the 1066 be a waste or will the Q6600 make good use of it?

Also how much more faster is the Q9550 than the Q6600...and what type of memory is good for Q9550 1066 or 1333?

You probably wouldn't notice a difference between the two different ram speeds. The minimum ram speed to run a Q6600 without bottlenecking it is 533mhz. 800mhz ram is more than good enough.

The minimum ram speed to run a Q9550 without bottlenecking it is 667mhz. Of course faster is good, but you really wouldn't see a performance difference between 1066mhz ram and 1333mhz ram.

Now, which one is better? Here are some benchmarks you can look through to compare the processor's. http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/desktop...chmarks,31.html .
