While outer events might make one happy or sad, happiness itself is entirely internal, and at all times completely within one's power.

Well, I wouldn't say that there's such a thing as being "over religious". I will however agree that there is such a thing as taking religion too far. For example, when you harass an individual to try and convert them to committing to your religion, or lack of religion, when they say "no thanks", trying to force your religious views or anti-religious views upon another individual (who isn't your kid), or when you feel that your religion is so superior that you feel the need to act superior to another human being.

My bad. But what you said basically sums up on what I mean by overly religious (as well as other added features)

How about those people who knock on your door at 7 or 8 A.M., on your day to sleep in.
I usually let my dog run these folks off!!
I'm doing just fine without their advice.Always have been.

An Atheist guy got some payback once, he went door to door early one morning trying to convert people to atheism: http://www.influks.com/post1499.html

Now that I think of it, partially thanks to TriggerHappyPappy, there is a religious organization that fits my criteria (or at least the first portion of my criteria) - Jehovah's Witness: Also known as the only religious organization on earth to have a statewide restraining order in nearly all 50 states. Also the only organization to be as big a pain in the posterior for Christians of other denominations as they are for Atheists.

ROFL
Now that's funny! Usually, we use biblical scriptures that tend to either contradict or override their beliefs to drive them off (we don't do so to try to convert them, just to get them off our porch after we've said "no thanks" about 40 times). The most common contradiction - EARTH IS NOT A PARADISE! Heck, you don't even need to use the Bible to contradict that. Just make mention of the economy, the wars, and the constant killings (specifically the massacre at that small town Amish school) and that alone tends to shut them up.

My sister had a friend,when I was a child,Who was a Jehovah's witness.
In case you don't know they don't celebrate Christmas,or any holidays. They don't even celebrate birthdays.
My mom would invite her over over for the birthday party and not tell her mother it was a birthday party.
My mother thought it was nonsense. Do you think this was wrong to do?

Yes actually I do think it is wrong of your Mom to do that. That was a deception. It was showing the girl how to deceive WITH an adults consent. Just because your mom thought it was nonsense did not give her the right to influence the girl to go against her own Religion. I have to say, since you asked, triggerhappypappy, that it was so not your Mom's place to make that call for the little girl. I can imagine if the girl's parents found out the little girl might have been in big trouble.. or maybe your Mom might have been.
