I am having some issues with my HP with XP home. Everyting is running very slow all of a sudden. I use a LAN connection. I have been trying to follow some of the suggestions in previous posts. I ran an online scan with PAnda to see if I had any malware. The following is all that was found.

Suspicious files:

C:\WINDOWS\Installer\294ee.msi[unk_0092]

C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender\Set...AD-5956ED628822}\bdts.msi[unk_0073]

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Deskt...y_2009_32b.exe][bdts.msi][unk_0073]

Infected:
nothing other than a few cookies and the following:
spyware/bundle... Spyware
Latent

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\...FFA75A-E81D-4454-89FC-B9FD0631E726}

I also wanted to try running my anti virus (Bit Defender) in safe mode because I am unable to restore to an earlier time. When I try I get almost through and then am told "could not restore". I am unable to run bit defender in safe mode or I don't know how to make it run in safe mode. It will not respond while in safe mode. Any ideas?
Thanks for the help for this newbie!

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
