Hello everyone...

Recently I was going through my msconfig and of course I am tempted to uncheck just about anything that I don't 'THINK' I need in there. I am sure we have all done this. I am especially bad with misc files that my C drive just lays around. I have always thought if they are just going to throw that out there then really it can't be too important! Needless to say I don't know where I would be without my System Restore disks.

Learning my lesson the hard way, I will usually search on Google for the file name if I am uncertain as to what it is for. I did just that for the file khooker.exe and after sifting through countless results I came across this lovely site. I am really a rookie when it comes to so many things about the PC but I am eager to learn and look forward to being a member.

Doing research about applications before changing what launches on start up is a very good idea. BC as a extensive program startup database (look at the top bar of the page for it) that will be helpful.
Welcome to BC!
