I want to make the taskbar (and start button, tray and all related to the taskbar) gone.

Not hidden... gone.

I am using RKLauncher, and it would seem that "hide taskbar" in the options still shows the start button when I click my start plugin.

Is there a way to make it totally gone?

ALSO,

I am currently using the testing version of the tray plugin for rklauncher and I want to know if anyone knows if there is an alternative? I.E. Is there a sidebar gadget that would do this? or is there a standalone app that looks nice that would take control of the tray, showing all the icons, not just 6/9 (battery, wifi, and sound not showing up in the plugin)

Get finderbar - it will be easiest (note that you can edit the menu) or desktopx ( desktopx consumes more mem but has no bar)

Thanks, but that's not really what I'm looking for.

I'm not looking to emulate a Mac, im looking to get rid of the taskbar totally.

I have no need for any type of bar. I have a dock.

I rather like to use opensource / non proprietary / no cost programs.

(rklauncher isn't opensource, but it's closer than object dock)
