What is your current backup plan for your computer?
I don't have one yet as I can't even afford an external HDD yet

What would be the most devastating loss of data (ie. pictures, email, music, etc) for you, if your hard drive failed or the data was deleted?
Definitely my music. It took me years to find it all and when I lost it last time I only managed to get a small part of what I used to have.

How would this prize package help you?
I would be able to back up everything onto the external harddrive!

OK I'm entering the contest, But this is really for my sister who is not very computer Saavy as they say.

A.
Her Current backup plan is that she believes she doesn't need a backup plan. Rather I did configure previous versions, but this is hardly effective if the drive crashes.

B. The most devastating losses would be her pictures of my Niece and Nephew and her school work. She wants to be an accountant. Go figure.

C. This would help Her and Me, because she would have her backups and stop nagging me to take care of this. I would use the software
on the Hard drive that comes with it to perform regular back-ups of her data. This would make her life easier.

Hope I Win. I mean for my sis that is. ;-)

1. Currently, I have a 4gb flash drive that I use to store the most important of documents and files, and I also have extremely important school files saved on my 2gb Ipod

2. My most devastating loss would be my music, my pictures, e-books that I have purchased, and countless programs that I have created in Microsoft Basic and C++.

3. This prize package would help me more than I can imagine. It would firstly, give me great peace of mind to know, that in the case that worst come to worst, I would still have all of these files that are important to me. It would also save me the money that I plan to use to buy an external hard-drive to back up my computer.

What is your current backup plan for your computer?
The second partition. not really good I know, but it works for now.

What would be the most devastating loss of data (ie. pictures, email, music, etc) for you, if your hard drive failed or the data was deleted?
Loosing my library of freeware applications I use to repair computers.

How would this prize package help you?
It would guarantee a secure backup that would probably stand the test of time (and incase my machine gets infected, i won't risk the data on the external)

Hi, I am entering your contest and to answer your Questions,
1) My current backup plan, I am using another internal harddisk installed in the same computer but not as my bootable harddisk. I am backing my current operating system and my data folders inlcuding personal stuff
2) What would be the most devastating lost of data? Well everything I have been doing and saved in my computer for future use and information would be a waste of work and effort should my current HardDisk become corrupted, but hoping to get everything back from this backup, which I can download it by using another computer which has an operating system.
3)This Prize package would help me very much indeed as it will save time for me from re-installation of operating system, programs and updating the loss data from the corrupted harddisk.

What is your current backup plan for your computer?
I have just moved over all my files onto a file server which is configured the DATA partition into a Mirror RAID, beofre this i didn't have any backup plan... eeek!!

What would be the most devastating loss of data (ie. pictures, email, music, etc) for you, if your hard drive failed or the data was deleted?
I think it would have to be my collection of movies and music, it has taken ages to build it up.

How would this prize package help you?
Well i would definately know my files were safe. At the moment it's ok to have one HDD fail, which has happened, but if two go, i'm stuffed!! An external place to back up would come in really handy, and would make moving data from PC to PC (instead of PC to server to PC) a LOT easier!!
If I am helping you and don't reply in 24 hours please send me a PM

At the moment, I don't have much of value on my computer. A lot of photos are burned to CD, and my email is web based. I have a few projects on a USB stick, which I back up to the main hard drive on occasion.

I don't think winning would change much, maybe get me a little extra cash.

What is your current backup plan for your computer?

Currently, its to keep my largest things on DVD storage and hope the drive doesn't fail. Its fairly new, so i'm not that worried about it right now. I've still got much of my data on my old PC.

What would be the most devastating loss of data (ie. pictures, email, music, etc) for you, if your hard drive failed or the data was deleted?

It would be between photos and video. Its hard to remember to back photos up, but video is just a lot of space. With my current drive getting a bit more than half full, its going to get tighter in the next year, also.

How would this prize package help you?

Firstly, it would allow me to reformat my drive, and allow for multiple partitions. Somehow the OS didn't format correctly, and i don't dare trust linux reformatters when i can't back up most of my stuff.

What is your current backup plan for your computer?
I currently have Vista automatically make backups of my data. But some data is too big to backup so I am planning on getting more storage so I can include these files in the automatic backups.

What would be the most devastating loss of data (ie. pictures, email, music, etc) for you, if your hard drive failed or the data was deleted?
My HD videos and my photos. I just bought a digital HD camcorder to capture all my baby's first moments. I'd be devastated if we lost any of that footage (i.e. her birth)

How would this prize package help you?
I would feel more at ease about my personal data. I could backup all my family photos and videos.

Back up plan? I know every geek should have one but I've never been very good with the buy a new hard drive, spend the processor and computer time to archive the files on another device and etc.
I only have a back up plan for my documents. I put all of my documents and data on an external hard drive in a folder. The documents folder is labeled Documents and it's linked to my Live Mesh account. like magic, it's automatically updated with every change I make to any document. If my External HDD crashes, it's safe in the Mesh.
but for everything else, there's mastercard...
just kidding, I don't have any credit cards or anything similar.

My school work or my code. Both rather important…

How would this prize package help you?
Give me more space to back stuff up, thus being able to keep a more accurate and long time backup of my data.

From time to time i burn my critical documents do DVDs.
The most devastating loss for me it would be to lose my documents, emails and photos.
This prize would help me to copy my critical stuff to external hdd and not to burn it to dvds. It would be more convenient, less time consuming and more reliable.
