I now bought a TabletPC and when i try to synchronize most of my improtant data between my PC/TPC/WM phone with Live Mesh and Dropbox I periodically have some data on my TPC which arent synchronized. Most of them are work related and it owuld be really bad if I lost them which is quite easy as normal notebook HDDs fail quite often and SSDs are too expensive as of now

What would be the most devastating loss of data (ie. pictures, email, music, etc) for you, if your hard drive failed or the data was deleted? all the above
How would this prize package help you? My current back up quit about 2 weeks ago so I am running on borrowed time

My pictures are saved at Shutterfly and data that does not need updating is stored on my D or E drive.
In case of hard drive failture, it is just a matter of reinstalling both operating and software programs.

I don't really have a backup plan. I've got a 4G USB drive I use to transport some files for school. I've got some pictures backed up on that. Most of my other pictures are on Photobucket. I'm pretty sure I've lost pictures, though, because I remember taking pictures at events and can't find them now. My husband reformats his computer frequentlly and we don't always get to retrieve stuff before he does it.
What would be the most devastating loss of data (ie. pictures, email, music, etc) for you, if your hard drive failed or the data was deleted?
Right now it would be files for my classes. I'm taking a web technology program at the local community college. I've got two websites to work on, plus other assignments. One of the websites is due for peer review on Tuesday. It would be devasting to lose the work I've done already.
How would this prize package help you?
I wold be able to have a secure backup of my college work and personal photos. I've also got hundreds of photos I need to scan and save digitally, including a few that are in the vicinity of 100 years old (inherited when mother-in-law died).

My current backup plan is archiving my most important files to DVD.
What would be the most devastating loss of data (ie. pictures, email, music, etc) for you, if your hard drive failed or the data was deleted?
Losing my saved photos, and accumulated data of various information gathered online would be the most devastating loss if my hard drive failed or if the data was deleted.
How would this prize package help you?
It would help me implement a true backp plan for archiving important data and perhaps even imaging my current hard drive onto an external hard drive in case of a HDD catastrophy.

weekly backup with Cobian Backup. i also have Foxmarks for my bookmarks. I also have an old version of Acronis sitting around somewhere, I just havent quite figured out how to use it yet
What would be the most devastating loss of data (ie. pictures, email, music, etc) for you, if your hard drive failed or the data was deleted?
Photos, letters and documents. Unfortunately I once lost about 3 months worth of notes and letters, as well as some photos I was not able to recover
How would this prize package help you?
I already got one of their external drives and like them (with external power supply thingy), but in today's digital world and with my new toy (Nikon D40), the drive is getting filled up pretty fast. Another one of those with double / triple capacity of what I have now, should keep me out of trouble for a while

I backup lightroom settings every time I start the program. I only backup pictures when I remember maybe every 6 months or so. I'm running out of room and have to get a bigger hard drive soon.
What would be the most devastating loss of data (ie. pictures, email, music, etc) for you, if your hard drive failed or the data was deleted?
If I lost my pictures I would be in trouble. I have about 20,000 pictures from personal to weddings I have shot and would have no portfolio if I lost them.
How would this prize package help you?
I would have room for all my pictures and room to grow. I would have a setup that would help me back up on a regular basis instead of just whenever I remembered.

Currently I have no 'real' backup plan. I usually duplicate the important stuff like photos, email archives to either another internal hard drive or to my laptop. The most devastating loss would definitely be all of the photos that I have. In many cases I have the only copies of some photos.
I know I could use the prize package because it would allow me to create an external backup of the data, in case something drastic happens inside my computer (I know I have a pending hard drive failure) and I were to have to shift a lot of data around.

I copy files over to CD's periodically. I put some info on thumb drives.
What would be the most devastating loss of data (ie. pictures, email, music, etc) for you, if your hard drive failed or the data was deleted?
My wifes writing. My wife writes and I do my best to keep up with her writing using the thumb drives. Altough I may get in as much trouble if I lose her pictures of our daughter.
How would this prize package help you?
I would be able to perform a more structured/scheduled back up of my data.
Thanks.

but the worst thing would be to have to rebuild all the software I use for work from the install disks. It takes days. Still, having the data backed up regularly would be a great relief.

I use Microsoft Office Groove for my school and work documents and a (now full) 80GB external drive for my media files.
Quote
Pictures from middle and high school as well as voice recorder recordings of my friends.

I would start keeping the uncompressed video files from special occasions and I would have a method for backing up my entire computer to finally reformat it.

Help
