I have a gateway machine with a DVD Rom/CD Rewritable drive in it that will only read DVD's as blank cd's. I can open the DVD when I put it in the drive and it just opens up the explorer window like it's a blank cd that I want to write to.

I use Power DVD to view movies. The DVD will play in a regular dvd player, just not on the machine.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Nick

Does your computer or Power DVD reconise it as a DVD player?

You can play other dvds in the computer and not a specific kind or one. Or the Dvds work in a normal DVD player and not the computer?
