I find this a useful tool when things seem to be running a bit slow, once you get a benchmark for your connection it helps you to see if its your computer or if your connection that is slow. http://www.cnet.co.uk/misc/speedtest/ just click on start

They all come up with different results which ever you try, speedtest.net is also one I use.
Goggle a few to estimate an average, don't believe any single one just use your average as a guide.

This trick is also useful for finding out if you're getting good service from your ISP. Mine advertises at 7mbps, look at my results. Perhaps there's a lot of people on right now...

I got 2856 on the speed test at cnet
and now you can see this one at speed test.
I "think" the difference is because of location of where the speed test is .(?)
I do know this, that upload is rather slow for my liking, the download is what I expect for
the tier that I am paying for.

It always depends on server location, quality and traffic. Note that 1665kbps is a very fast upload, as you mostly need upload to send requests.

cnet first said that it was on 900 Mbps, then went up a bit after a few tries, and stabilised around 1900. it jumped back once and got up again.

Should it really fluctuate that much?
