how many logs dows vista keep and how can i disable them?

I keep seeing it logging abunch of **** in resource moniter but i cant find out what it is.

in system moniter there are abunch of files with log in their name taking up alot of resources on disk/ram/ and orcpu and i would like to disable them.

I'm still confused. There is no system monitor in Vista, there is a Task Manager, Event Viewer, and Resource Monitor. There are log files on the PC but they should only be taking up a small amount of space and not accessing anything. A screen shot of what you are referring to might help us better understand your problem.
