i heard the company aluria is teamed with a adware company, but is the product safe to use?

I don't know enough on that to feel comfortable giving you my personal opinion but I found an interesting link for you.
Another site sent 20 questions to Aluria and then posted their responses. A selection of the questions:
I'm not through reading it yet, but they do seem to defend themselves well enough so far.
Also found this Slashdot post on the subject. It's worth a look.
