Windows open on right side of taskbar Vista Home Premium

I have a dell Studio 1535 laptop with vista home premium. A couple of weeks ago, it updated and ever since, when I open a window, it appears on the right side of the task bar instead of the left side. It drives me insane because you can only open 2 and any after 2 u have to use the up and down arrow to go the the third and fourth and so on. Any one know how I can change it. I've read all the help about the taskbar and I can figure it out. Thanks
