On an eMachine with Vista Home preinstalled which means Windows Live Mail (used to be known as Outlook Express) is part of IE. Instead of buying into Office 2007 (converting the trial version installed), I have installed Office 2003. All was fine, the installation went fine. But when attempting to attach an Excel 2003 or Word 2003 documents, the message comes across that Office 2003 is corrupt. Office 2003 has worked fine, and this message appears only when I try to attach to WLMail. I have uninstalled Office 2003 and reinstalled with the same result.
I am thinking '03 is not compatible with WLMail. I'm thinking that I'll stop trying WLM and use Office Outlook 2003. That may be the only fix I need. Keep Vista, email with Office Outlook 2003 and use all of Office.
Objective is to be able to use Office 2003, and attach those documents to an email message.
What's the best combination of OS, Office 2003 and which email system?
Thanks.
