My daughter has a laptop with Vista and my wife tried to remove Norton but somehow in the Security Center it shows "Norton Internet Security" out of date. I checked Control Panel and there are no Symantec products listed. I have tried to remove it but no luck. I would like to remove the Norton so that I could install AVG. How can I do this?

Hi rockczar,

Norton are a reputable company and they have an uninstaller which should completely clear your PC of any files which have been left behind either by a faulty uninstall or through random deletions.

Hi mOle,

I tried your solution, but they require the product key to uninstall their product. Thanks for your help, but I need another way without using the key.

rockczar;

The Norton Removal Tool is the only reliable way to uninstall.
It looks like you have a trial version that came with your computer
when you purchased it.
As far as the product key goes, you only need it to RE-install, not uninstall.
Go to the link provided by mOle and click on the version you have and follow
the instructions from there.
