Firewall Software

Hi all, Just having a problem closing port 21 ( FTP ) & some port scanners tell me that telnet is also open.
I have installed a firewall i cant remember the name of it ( not at my computer at this time ) but i set it to block file transfer protacall & it still has port 21 open .

What im looking for is a firewall with an easy option to block a specific ports, If anyone noes of any could you please let me no.

Is this computer behind a router? If so the router might be opening the port.

Yes it is behind a router, im unsure on how to check that tho....

Try opening your browser and typing in the address bar

192.168.0.1

And press enter.

192.168.1.2 is the address to access the router.

Search through the router settings to see if the port of the protocol has been disabled or blocked.

Found a setting i hadnt seen before for ACL or something, had a list of FTP, Telnet, Web ect, i have now disabled FTP & Telnet & both seen to now be closed.
