Suggestions for Computer Protection

This is my system specs
Pentium IV 2.00GHz
512 RAM
Windows XP Service Pack 3

What can be a good antivirus and a firewall too :thumbsup:

for me?
Something that wont make it laggy and all..

I use Avira Antivir Personal free, with full time guard,for antiVirus.
If you are running Vista,Windows Firewall, I read is quite OK.
I use Sygate Firewall for XP, and it works well for me. Very user friendly.

Avira can be downloaded from here and is what I personally use. I've heard ZoneAlarm and Comodo are good firewalls.

Avira is a less weight anti-virus software compared to other anti-virus softwares. Since you only have 512 MB of RAM, Avira is a good choice. I've heard that Comodo uses alot of usage, so I would say Sygate would be a better fit for you if you don't want a lagging computer :thumbsup:

Never tried Sygate before, but did try Comodo. Comodo does take quite a lot of resources espically during the startup.
You might want to try both and see which one you like. Sunbelt is another firewall that is fairly good too.
