I have been putting together a gaming website but have noticed something weired, my site looks fine on a monitor 17" and above inc widescreen, but if viewed on a 15" monitor, the site is all over the place such as all the template is split up and the sides are no longer attached to the top or bottom (header/footer) is this a problem that can be sorted or is it a case of, if you have a 15" monitor then tough!! I have been trying to get hold of the designer of the template but still no answer.

I would say that the template design is poor if it is not scalable to all monitors and resolutions, but unfortunately, that is becoming more common. I can guarantee that the template is modifiable; how easy is a different question though. It's too bad though. One of my laptops is a tablet PC, and it only has a 12 inch screen. Bleeping Computer scales perfectly on it, and it scales perfectly to the 22" monitors on my desktop. That is the way it should be.

Most likely the person that created the template used fixed widths and positioning for the various elements.

Thanks for that groovicus, im still waiting for the designer to contact me regarding this issue, but what you say does make sense, i will try and look through all the files etc and see if i can find something, you are also correct in what you say regarding sites should scale to fit all monitors otherwise the net would be a very messy place if they did not lol
