]I am fixing a Dell 5100 desktop with a SATA hd and have an extra SATA connector in the frame. I want to use her old hd as a slave or secondary drive, but it is a molex connector...how can I hook it up?
Thanks

Assuming the system has at least one existing 4-pin Molex connector (eg on the CD/DVD drive), you can use a Y-splitter from that connector, or you can get various types of adapters to convert the SATA power connector to ATA Molex, eg some here:

If you are asking how to make the motherboard connection for the PATA drive...I would just buy a cheap controller card and use that for legacy/PATA hard drives.

Example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16816132005

There are other devices which purport to do the conversion, but I just tend to trust controller cards more. I see too many negative user comments about such.
