Comodo Defense+ keeps blocking asghost.exe, a part of Asus Security Protect Manager (definately a trusted program).

Every 20 seconds.

I have added it to "My own Safe Files"

Nothing Changes.

What I want is Comodo to stop blocking asghost from doing its job.

any ideas?

Hi, I was just in Comodo forums yesterday reading for hours. They may be able to help you out. They have tutorials for everything pertaining to CPF. You may want to take a look.

You switched to Nod32, an antivirus program.
Defense+ is a feature in Comodo's firewall.
If you uninstalled Comodo, did you install another firewall or at least enable Window's firewall?

Defence+ works by monitoring how applications work. The message you were getting was most likely asking...

Do you want the program to start?
The program has started do you want to keep it running?
The program wants to be let into memory, is this ok?
The program has now been loaded into memory are you sure you want to keep it in memory?
The program wants to install a hook, do you want to allow?
The program wants to look in this folder is this ok?
The program has looked in the folder and now wants to look in the registry is this ok?
The program is modifying a file in a folder is this allowed?
The program is editing a registry key is this ok?
The program wants to use COM+ is this ok?
The program wants to use the monitor is this ok?
The program is accessing the keyboard is this ok?
The program now wants to communicate to another memory item, is this ok?

The list follows that sort of pattern and is by no means complete. If you modify the defence+ section these alerts will stop.
Regards,

Alan.

All you need to do is in Comodo open the Firewall and click on Advanced options > Network security policy> in the list that appears find Asus Security Protect Manager and right click > Edit > check the "Use a predefined Security Policy option and in the drop down box set it to Trusted Application click Apply > Apply and ok. This should solve your Problem. It is advisable to set this rule for all your trusted security programs and set IE, Firefox, Opera etc as Browsers.

Another tip for Comodo users is to click on the purge button in Firewall and also in Defence+ and then apply this will get rid of any old unused programs from Comodo.
