Is it safe to trust the router?

Another question: Is it natural for the router to communicate with the computers on the network using virtual ports?

Hello.

Posting twice with the same topic won't get you help any faster.
Refer to here.

Back to your question.

I Did a Whois search on that IP Address, you can take a look here. As you probably noticed it is called an Private Ip Address Lan . I would usually trust these address just because it is private IP address. I would consider it safe. Private are usually used for a local home network or business intranet, therefore it is safe.

Also, if I remeber correctly from previous experience is the default for certain broadband routers.

Do you have any specific problems you are having though other than taht?

With Regards,
Extremeboy

Hi, sorry about the double post. It's closed now.

No, I am not having any problems with the router.

I was just afraid that trusting this IP would mean trusting the entire Internet.

Hi.

I suggest you read this topic that Koal Yorel said here regarding the Fifteen minutes to crack WPA protocol .

Are you using broadband router? If so, then I would trust it as it is probably relating to your network connection.

Well, yes. If that IP address was a malicious related Ip Address, you would be in trouble. It can lead to many nasty infections that you probably don't want including backdoors etc..

In this situation, I would trust that IP address, probably good.
Anything else?

I kinda already read the article.

OK, I'll configure Comodo to accept messages from my wireless router - 192.168.0.1. It's been trying to communicate with the computer for a while - the intrusion attempt log is full with 192.168.0.1.
